how do we arrive to you from solento bus station as the map says it is 55min walk. is there public transport transport ?

Hi, in Salento there are Jeeps that are our public transportation since they work as taxis and also have some established routes. You can take a private one for 14,000 or the public jeep to Cocora for 2,000 per person.

What restaurants, attractions, and public transit options are nearby?

We have an on site restaurant and Salento (the town) is just 5 minutes away by car. We are located in the cocora valley which is the main attraction and there is public transportation available from 6 am to 9 pm.

How much the horse riding and the other activities?

Hola! What is the best way to get from La Dorada to the hotel? I will be traveling from Bogota by bus. Also, what is the best way to get from the area to Medellin? I assume it's going back to La Dorada and taking a bus? Thank you so much!

There are to ways to get there by bus both practically the same length. One is La Dorada-Manizales-Pereira-Salento. And the other one La Dorada-Ibague-Armenia-Salento. To get to Medellín there are two daily direct buses from Salento to Medellin.

How much is the cost of the pick-up/drop off at the airport (Periera) for four persons? And also how much would it cost to ride the horses and for how long? How far is the property from Salento? Thank you.

Pick up from Pereira for 4 with medium/small bags is 160,000 COP. With larger bags in a minivan would be 215,000. Horseback riding is 90,000 each and 2.5 hrs ride. We are 5 minutes away from Salento by car.

Beautiful hotel in fantastic location

Absolutely beautiful location and hotel was great with everything you needed. Waking up to view of mountains and river was amazing. Staff were really helpful and arranged taxis and trips. Nothing was too much trouble. Horse riding to waterfall was magical and we saw monkeys on our trip to Baraba Bremen. Also went to salento and filandia and did coffee farm tour which was very well done and interesting and to see the wax pines at Cocora. Food was good and showers were hot and powerful. Lovely relaxed atmosphere with plenty to see or do or just to lie around in hammocks. Thoroughly recommend.

Lovely staff, super helpful and they gave us lifts into salento whenever we needed. Great breakfast and activities

The plugs were very loose so the charger would fall out sometimes and some didn’t work

Wonderful

The location is wonderful - so beautiful and peaceful. We loved staying in the river house; it's a perfect place to relax. The food in the restaurant was good too. Although getting into Salento involves a journey by jeep or an uphill walk we agreed that we much preferred this location to the town. You don't really feel the need to go anywhere else (though it is handy for the Cocora Valley treck). Overall: highly recommended.

The taxi we'd booked through the hotel to collect us at Pereira airport didn't turn up, which wasn't a major problem as we got another one, but there was another communication issue linked to that. The staff were generally lovely though. It is a working farm so I guess people should be prepared for somewhere a little bit rustic, but the website gives an accurate impression.

Colombian Nature and Culture at its best!

For us staying at the echotel was definitely what made our trip to Salento! The hospitality of Hector, his family and team is just outstanding and we felt very welcomed and comfortable during our whole stay. Hector helped us organizing the trips and activities we wanted to do in Salento and all of them were really great! We enjoyed the family atmosphere in the hotel. Food is also very nice with a small fresh breakfast and a nice choice of meals for lunch and dinner freshly prepared. We can just thank Hector and his family for having us and we would love to come back one day and highly recommend the hotel to everyone who wants to go to Salento.

Perfect retreat in the coffee region

We had the best time at La Cabaña! The location outside of Salento was perfect - far enough removed from the hustle and bustle, but still easy to access! Hector and the rest of the staff were so kind and helpful with organizing our activities. We loved the coffee tour and Valle de Cocora hike. Food was absolutely delicious, better than any restaurant we went to. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This hotel is like paradise on earth. If we could give more than 10 stars, we would! The staff is extremely friendly and the setting unbelievably beautiful. The food was some of the best we've had in Colombia. The whole atmosphere is very social. We prefer this to staying in town, which can become crowded with other tourists.

La Cabaña is located in a bucolic setting of extraordinary, rustic beauty. It is at the opening of the Cocora Valley, with the Quindio river running along the side of the property. Green pastures, cows and horses, birds galore of many colors and sizes and shapes, dramatic skies with beautiful clouds that change shapes constantly, and the continuous music of the river as it rushes by through your rocky bed. Easy access to hiking in the “bosque de niebla” with striking views of the ”palms de cera.” Easy access as well to the quaint towns of Salento and Filandia.

the most dreamy and relaxing stay

Gorgeous surroundings and property. Staff is beyond helpful and kind—special thanks to Santiago, who’s such a caring, capable and fun guy, who btw speaks fluent English and explained us everything in great detail and answered all of our questions. Food is very good and affordable. Lots of friendly animals! Cute cats, a lovely dog, lots of cows and some horses. The river room (8) has a beautiful view to the Quindío river. It’s relatively small but cozy and has a small fridge, stacked with various drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). There’s a small space heater that’s really useful during the chilly nights. Valle de Cocora is only a few km away. Incredibly calm, relaxing and quiet place. Many different activities are offered, e.g. horseback riding, hiking, etc. Coffee & tea available all day long. I wish we could’ve stayed longer! Can’t recommend enough.

We wish there were a few more shelves or a chest of drawers to put clothes on/in, though, as well as a hanger or something to dry the towels there.

The hotel is lovely, set in nature outside of Salento. The room was nice and comfortable. Great breakfast. Our host was wonderful and provided helpful tips on getting to Valle del Cocora and other activities. We would go back any time.

Perfect stay in cocora valley

Great place, Nice owners. Our kids loved to stay on the family farm, milking cows, horse back riding etc. Very friendly owners. Good food and activity options. Quiet area inbetween the valley and the village.

Might be attention to the ventilation in the rooms because of the mold on the walls. Small bathroom.

picturesque and serene stay near Salento

serene and picturesque location, felt very cozy.

the only suggestion I have is to add a rack and hangers, a makeshift closet, to hang clothes. especially since it is so damp it would help to air out your items. but it is a small suggestion, not critical by any means.
